Dear Editor,The overwhelming generosity of the people of Natchitoches helped provide joy to children in need through Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts this season. Across the U.S., the Samaritan’s Purse project collected 10.5 million shoebox gifts in 2024.

Governor’s response to New Orleans tragedy is State of Emergency

In response to the tragic terrorist attack that took place on Bourbon Street Wednesday, Jan. 1, Gov. Jeff Landry issued a State of Emergency in Orleans Parish.This will allow for the utilization of all available state resources ahead of Super Bowl LIX and Mardi Gras.
