NSU athletes are aiming for personal best at nationals

Two seasons ago Northwestern State thrower Diamante Gumbs traveled to Eugene to cheer on twin brother Djimon Gumbs when Djimon competed at nationals in both shot put and discus.

Pool at NSU complex opens this weekend

The pool at Northwestern State University Recreation Complex will open at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2. Hours will be 2-7 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. The pool will be closed Mondays.NSU faculty/staff memberships are available for $160 (individual) and $200 (family).

Northwestern women’s relay team joins men at nationals

They’ve got a lot of speed down there at Northwestern State.”ESPN+ broadcaster Noah Frary stated what everybody in the Southland Conference and the region already knew.To cap off the meet, the women’s 4x400 relay team smashed the school and conference record, clocking a 3:29.

Beard, Gumbs, 4x100 relay team punch ticket to nationals

You might as well call Eugene, Oregon, ‘Natchitoches West.’Zachaeus Beard and Diamante Gumbs, as well as the 4x100 relay team, all earned trips to nationals in Oregon, highlighting a strong day from the men’s Northwestern State track and field team Friday on the campus of the University of Kentucky.
