The Natchitoches Central Chiefs dropped a district game to reigning district 1-5A champion Airline Friday night by a score of 41-21.The Chiefs (2-3, 1-1 district 1-5A) tied the game at 7-7 after linebacker Landon Brossett intercepted a pass from Airline’s Ben Taylor.

Northwestern’s Svoboda named defensive player of week

Following a week of high-level production and consistency, Northwestern State libero Ashlyn Svoboda has been named Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week.This is the second defensive honor for the Demons this season as Svoboda joins Reaghan Thompson who won the award two weeks ago.

Northwestern State University alumni and friends will gather Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3-4 for Homecoming festivities.The weekend will begin with the Long Purple Line luncheon, which will take place at the Natchitoches Events Center, 750 Second St., Natchitoches on Friday, Nov. 3.
