Thirteen youth and six adult volunteers at First United Methodist in Natchitoches recently traveled to Sunflower, MS for a mission trip with Delta Grace. Delta Grace is a non-profit, multi-denominational, faith-based organization that matches mission teams with those in need of home repairs. The Delta Grace facilities serve as a year-round hub to provide mission opportunities for teams of all sizes, ages, and skill levels. Ninety-nine percent of all work done at Delta Grace is done through the gifts and graces of volunteers. Mission teams work on homes of many who have lost hope. As participants in Delta Grace, volunteers become that hope as they spend time with those in need and walk with them on their journey to experience God’s grace. We are so proud of our youth for the work they achieved! The group removed and replaced shingles for half of a roof, patched a ceiling, and widened an entrance for a woman who could not leave her house for two- years. A bathroom remodel was also started to make it handicap accessible for her to use.
