The monthly Young-at-Heart luncheon for seniors was Jan. 3 at the First United Methodist Church. Mark and Pamela Lockridge entertained the group with words of encouragement for the New Year and a selection of worship songs. Table decorations with a New Year's/winter theme were provided by the church's Bostick-Bradley Circle. Harvey Polk served as master of ceremonies and offered a prayer before the meal. Young-at-Heart meets the first Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. in Bostick Hall at the church. The meeting is non-denominational and all seniors are welcome. Those attending are asked to pay a $5 fee or take a covered dish to share. The next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 7.
