Our Lady of Guadalupe did so much for her people in Mexico that, in 1960, the Columbian Squires, a youth organization of the Knights of Columbus, wanted to give something back to her.

Keep Louisiana Beautiful grant will fund bottle refill stations at NSU CENLA

Northwestern State University of Louisiana received a Keep Louisiana Beautiful 2024 University Affiliate grant for $5,000.This grant will be for two filtered water bottle refill stations for NSU’s new building on the CENLA Campus at England Industrial Airpark.

Exhibit travels to Natchitoches to tell the story of the American Revolution

Cane River Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution were at the grand opening of the “American Revolution Experience” at the National Center for Preservation Training & Technology (NCPTT), at 645 University Parkway, on Northwestern State University Campus Nov. 26.

The exhibit will run through Dec. 6 at the National Center for Preservation Training & Technology (NCPTT), on Northwestern State University Campus, from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. It is sponsored by the Cane River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Venturing up to the Northeast Region of Louisiana, Cecilia Stevens with the Louisiana Farm to School Program shares a traditional cornbread dressing recipe her family has been enjoying with holiday meals for years.

Finally, we move to the heart of Louisiana, the Central Region. Mrs. Addie Spline Wardell was a true south Louisiana cook from St. Landry Parish and a loving grandmother to the Agenter Rapidest Parish nutrition and community health agent, Jennifer Dukhn.
