Fireworks on the riverbank during the Christmas Festival aren’t the only ones that have been exploding lately.
There were a few at the City Council meeting Monday because of three resolutions on the agenda. The resolutions were to waive potential conflict and allow City Attorney Alex Washington to represent Mayor Ronnie Williams Jr., Finance Director Clarissa Brown Smith and Community Outreach and Grants Writer Nicole Gray in proceedings of the La. Board of Ethics.
The three resolutions failed with Councilpersons Rosemary Eli and Chris Petite voting to let Washington represent the three and Councilperson-at-Large Betty Smith Kirkendoll and Councilmen Dale Nielsen and Eddie Harrington voting no.
