JUST TALKIN’

JT hopes our readers were not too inconvenienced with the no printed issue last weekend.

—— This is it! The 99th Natchitoches Christmas Festival is here this weekend. (Just a side note…we have been around as long as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which like us will be 100 years old next year.)

There has been a ton of work by some wonderful people in our community to produce this annual parade …which, by the way, is as popular in our state as the Mardi Gras parades of New Orleans. Ours however, is a lot more family friendly. To their credit, our organizers have made “family” their major emphasis each year. Many of the faithful volunteers...and city crews…work behind the scenes and rarely get recognized. However, without them we wouldn’t have one of the most spectacular events in the nation.
