Sewer repairs have closed parts of Washington from Texas to Lafayette streets

As of Monday, March 23, Washington Street, which is La. Hwy. 6 Business Route, was closed to all traffic from the intersection of Texas Street to the intersection of Lafayette Street due to necessary sewer repairs.This closure remains in effect until such time as the repairs have been completed.

Texas St. closure

The City of Natchitoches has announced Texas Street (LA-1 Business route) will be closed to all traffic at address 1539 beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, for emergency sewer repairs. Southbound through traffic must detour around the work site via the LA-1 Bypass.

Juvenile struck by car

Officers with the Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 600 block of Amulet St.  for  a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. The crash took place  on Saturday, March 21, around 4:15 p.m.  The initial investigation revealed that a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze was heading east on Amulet St.
