NSU journalism student selected for fellowship

Kallie Bourgeois of Reserve is one of six college students from around the country selected for the inaugural launch of the Inclusive Excellence in Journalism (IEJ) fellowship.

It’s here….that wonderful thing we call “Daylight Saving Time.”Sunday we get to turn our clocks forward one hour. Technically, Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. but JT won’t be staying up to officially welcome the time change. He’ll turn his clocks forward before he goes to bed.

LPB will broadcast Governor’s opening address

Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LIB) will provide live coverage of Gov.Jeff Landry’s opening address to the Louisiana Legislature for the 2026 Regular Session on Monday, March 9 at 1 p.m. It will air statewide on LIBHAD, WILE-TV & WYES-TV, the PBS station serving New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

City issues permits

The City of Natchitoches Planning and Zoning Department issued 23 building permits with a valuation of $504,867 during February according to the report issued by Director Shortfall Roque.

Scholars Day to be held March 7

The Louisiana Scholars’ College will hold its annual Scholars’ Day on Saturday, March 7, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in Morrison Hall on the campus of Northwestern State University.Scholars’ Day is an open house for students interested in honors education.
