Local high schoolers explore healthcare career choices at Northwestern’s ACE event

Northwestern State University hosted about 100 11th and 12th grade students from Lakeview High School and Natchitoches Central High School for the university’s sixth Healthcare Academic & Career Exploration (ACE) event Feb. 27.

Chamber, other local leaders will host Natchitoches Day at the Capital

Chamber members and other local leaders are set to attend Natchitoches Day at the Capital. The one- day event takes place Monday, March 25.The day begins with a Legislative Appreciation Breakfast from 8- 10 a.m.

LPB will broadcast Governor’s opening address

Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LIB) will provide live coverage of Gov.Jeff Landry’s opening address to the Louisiana Legislature for the 2026 Regular Session on Monday, March 9 at 1 p.m. It will air statewide on LIBHAD, WILE-TV & WYES-TV, the PBS station serving New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

City issues permits

The City of Natchitoches Planning and Zoning Department issued 23 building permits with a valuation of $504,867 during February according to the report issued by Director Shortfall Roque.

Herbs, flowers, more at spring plant sale

Scholars Day to be held March 7

The Louisiana Scholars’ College will hold its annual Scholars’ Day on Saturday, March 7, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in Morrison Hall on the campus of Northwestern State University.Scholars’ Day is an open house for students interested in honors education.
