Domestic Violence has outreach office hours

Natchitoches Parish Domestic Violence Outreach office hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call Shaye at 318/663-5961 to make an appointment. A Domestic Violence Support Group is held the first and third Thursday of every month from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Burn Ban declared in Parish

Because of the lack of rainfall and the extremely dry conditions Natchitoches Parish President John Salter has issued a Parishwide burn ban effective immediately. The burn ban will remain in place until further notice.

Christmas in Natchitoches

Miss Merry Christmas and the Christmas Belles unveil 2025 Christmas Festival poster in a ceremony hosted by the Natchitoches Arts Council at Tres Bien Antiques on St Denis Sunday, Oct. 12. Katie Shreve painted this year’s poster, which she said captures the spirit of Christmas on St Denis Street.

Outpatient Medical Center offering dental hygiene services

Outpatient Medical Center (OMC) provides dental hygiene services at its Natchitoches Clinic. Dental hygiene is more than clean teeth. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), poor gum health can worsen blood sugar control in people with diabetes.

Voters turn down port millage proposition

Natchitoches Parish voters overwhelmingly tuned down the Port Millage Proposition, the lone item on the Oct. 11 ballot.A total of 772 voters or 27 percent gave the nod and 2,099 voters or 73 percent said nay for a total of 2,871 votes.

Library hosting Shred Day Friday
