Kiwanis Club announces winners of Color Run and Pancake Festival

The Kiwanis Club of Natchitoches’ Sept. 20 Color Run and Pancake Festival drew strong support from the Northwestern State University family with several students, faculty and staff turning out for the races.The event is held annually to support children and raise funds for youth programs.

Outpatient Medical Clinic is fully ‘Joint Commission Accredited’

In May 2025, the Outpatient Medical Center (OMC) underwent an unannounced Joint Commission Survey, a vigorous audit process which ultimately resulted in the organization earning accreditations in Ambulatory Health Care and Behavioral Health Care and Human Services.

OMC is now offering flu shots in order to protect the public against the strains of the flu that are expected to circulate this flu season. Walk in today or call to schedule an appointment.OMC has privately purchased vaccines, which are available for a self-pay fee of $25, or by billing insurance.

Parish and City offices will close for Columbus Day

Columbus Day is Monday, Oct. 13, therefore, all state, parish and city offices are closed. Also closed are most banks and the U.S. Postal Service.All federal offices will be closed, including federal courts.
