NSU announces tenures and promotions

Northwestern State University has granted tenure to 15 faculty members and 20 faculty have received promotions effective with the start of the 2025-26 academic year, according to Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Greg Handel.

Dixie St Road Closure

The City of Natchitoches would like to advise the public that Dixie Street will be closed from Sarah Street to Gold Street on Thursday, Sept. 4, and Friday, Sept.5. The closure will occur daily from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  with the area reopening each afternoon.

Resident with a vision cleans up eyesore on MLK Drive

Natchitoches resident Brian Briggs made good his plan to clean and secure the former pre-school building on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive that once housed the Head Start program.At the July 14 meeting, the City Council voted to condemn the building because of its deterioration.
