Mini-Golf tourney at Dark Woods will benefit Discovery Center

There will be a fundraiser for Cane River Discovery Center at Dark Woods Adventure Park Friday, Sept. 12.The mini-golf classic will be at the park at 4343 University Parkway from 5:30-8 p.m. There will be family games, food and fun for all ages.

U.S. Army is oldest military branch

The US military branches were established at different times, with the Army being the oldest, founded in 1775.The Navy and Marine Corps were also established during the American Revolution, in 1775. The Coast Guard followed in 1790.

Awarded Scholarship

Akeelah Wade was presented the J.D. Garrett Memorial Scholarship totaling $500 at Christian Baptist Church Aug. 3. Wade is a 2025 graduate of Natchitoches Central High School.

Rotary Guest

Get fit in Chair Fitness Classes

Voices 4 Autism is offering a Chair Fitness Class geared toward older active adults or anyone who needs a low impact class to stay strong and mobile The free weekly class is held Thursdays from 10 to 11 a.m. at the MLK Recreational Center dance studio. Instructor is Ms. RM Reliford.
