Centenary Dean’s List includes 3 students from Natchitoches

A total of 248 Centenary students have been named to the Dean’s List for Spring 2025. The honor list names all students who have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in 12 or more semester hours taken for a letter grade during the fall semester..

Louisiana Folklife Center to present Zydeco Program

The Louisiana Folklife Center at Northwestern State University will present the program “A Life of Zydeco: A Musical Informance with Chubby Carrier” on June 21 at 1 p.m. at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum at 800 Front Street in Natchitoches.

Little Nonnie

Louise Ciccone was born in 1958 in Bay City, Michigan to Tony and Louise Ciccone. Because she shared the same name as her mother, her five siblings called her Little Nonnie. Little Nonnie was 5 when her mother died from breast cancer.

Church News

The officers and members of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, located in the Bermuda community near Natchez, invite the public to join them in celebrating their Church Homecoming. The event will take place on Sunday, June 1, at 2 p.m. This year’s celebration will feature Rev. Andre Haynie Sr.
