Maintenance continuing on Church, Touline, Front and Fifth streets Feb. 3

The City of Natchitoches announces that soil boring work will be performed on Second Street from Church to Touline and on Touline from Front to Fifth on Monday, Feb. 3.The work will be performed between 8 a.m. and noon. One-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained by use of flaggers.

Drug Enforcement Unit continues its mission

Since the establishment of the Natchitoches Parish Drug Enforcement Unit and its criminal patrol unit by Sheriff Stuart Wright, there has been a notable decrease in crime across the parish.The unit has been proactive in its efforts to combat crime, along with and enhancing community safety.

Krewe of Waguns Children & Pet Parade is Saturday March 1 in downtown Natchitoches.The children, pet and float Mardi Gras Parade gets underway at 3 p.m. with 2 p.m. registration at BOM at 814 Washington St. Parade line-up is 2:45 p.m. The route is BOM, south on Front St, to Touline St.
