This past Sunday, Old Bethel had a good day. Bro. Wayne Salley baptized four young people. They were Amanda Weeks, Kalin Weeks, Maury Jackson, and Truitt Hamm. Following the baptism Bro. Wayne the song service, brought the message from Acts 8:35-39. Bro. Wayne read the scripture.

Holiday food drive brings in 60,291 pounds of food

The results of the 2024 KALB-TV Christmas Cheer Food Drive are complete, and 60,291 pounds of nonperishable food items were collected from Avoyelles, Grant, Natchitoches, Rapides and Vernon parish schools, according to Jayne Wright-Velez, executive director of the Food Bank of Central Louisiana.

Eleven city permits issued with $191,000 valuation last month

City building permits issued in December of 2024 and their valuations were down drastically according to the monthly report issued by Director of Planning and Zoning Shontrell Roque.Eleven permits were issued with a valuation of $191, 853.

JT came within seconds of falling for a computer scam.He got an email from what appeared to be a Dallas based toll road company urging him to pay his tolls and fines immediately or risk losing his license and more in fees.It caught JT’s attention because he did in fact accidentally take a toll road.
