Recap of a Busy April and May for Red River Parish 4-H

Red River Paish 4-H has been very busy in April and May in the parish and the state.The last two months have been busy but worth it all for our 4-Her’s. The Parish has had a great year and many things are happening during the summer in the parish and a cross the state for our 4-Hers. 

Red River Council on Aging Annual Membership Drive

The Annual Membership Drive Open Enrollment for Red River Council on Aging will be on-going until it closes at the end of business on Friday, July 17, 2026. Persons who are 18 years of age and are residents of Red River Parish can enroll.

Driver education course to start July 6

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Education will offer a 38-hour driver education course beginning July 6. Students must be 15 years old on or before Oct. 6 to take the class.The deadline to register for is Friday, June 26.

Notary Public Exam Prep Course to begin July 6

NATCHITOCHES - Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Education will offer a Notary Public Exam Prep Course starting Monday, July 6. The fee is $519. The registration deadline is June 30.

$6.5 Million In Unclaimed Property Checks On The Way

BATON ROUGE, LA. – Louisiana State Treasurer John Fleming, M.D., announced that 44,614 unclaimed property checks totaling $6.5 million were mailed out on Friday, June 12, following a data match to update addresses with the Louisiana Department of Revenue.

Pick Up Your Brush Painting classes to be held in July and August

NATCHITOCHES — Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Education will offer Pick Up Your Brush painting classes on July 9, 30 and Aug. 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the second floor of South Hall. The fee is $45.
