NFIB urges LA House Committee to support sales tax amendment

NFIB State Director Leah Long says small business owners are urging members of the House Ways and Means Committee to approve House Bill 620, a proposed constitutional amendment that would simplify Louisiana’s complex sales tax system. The committee meets on Monday.

A love fund for Richard Adkins has been established at City Bank and Trust, Natchitoches, to help with out-of-pocket expenses related to his hospice care. Richard is known and cared for by many people from all walks of life and from all over town, especially in the music community.

Numerous guilty pleas draw years of prison time

District Attorney Billy Joe Harrington announced this week multiple defendants entered guilty pleas in Division B of the 10th Judicial District Court, Judge Lala Sylvester.Kaiden Burks, 17, of Natchitoches, pleaded guilty to Second Degree Robbery.
