The first week of the fall semester brought renewed energy and excitement to our campuses as students returned to the classroom and reconnected with the Northwestern community. I am grateful to our faculty and staff for the preparation, care and enthusiasm that made the opening week so successful.

It wasn’t what we wanted for the start of the season…but it was a good game for spectators.The Demons dropped their opener against Louisiana College Thursday night, 42-37. There were plenty of good plays…and some not so good ones on both sides.

City Council in a quandary while murals maks headway

The controversial mural on St. Denis Street will get to stay and the owners must pay a fine of $1,650 after the City Council overturned a decision by the Historic District Commission (HDC) at the Council meeting Monday. But the decision will only bring about more problems.
