DOTD cleaning after storm

Louisiana DOTD has announced work has begun the process of removing tree debris from the rightof- way along certain state routes in the northwest region that accumulated as a result of the recent winter storm.

Mr. and Mrs. LaCaze---State’s longest known married couple

On Valentine’s Day, Leland and Gussie LaCaze of Robeline were honored as this year’s longest known married couple by Louisiana Family Forum. For 79 years the Natchitoches Parish couple has been husband and wife.Gussie and Leland LaCaze met in May of 1945 in the small sawmill town of Flora.

School Board adopts calendar with 1st day of school Aug. 10

The Natchitoches Parish School Board approved the district school calendar for the upcoming 20262027 school year during its Feb. 10 meeting.The school years begins August with Aug. 3-7 set as professional development /teacher workdays. The first day for students is Monday, Aug.
