JT noticed the work on St. Maurice Lane (between Williams Avenue and Fifth Street) got slowed down during the first of the week holidays. A huge portion of that stretch is dirt as they rebuild the road base, however, things will move quickly once things get back on track.

President’s Day closures listed

On Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 16, federal, state, and local government offices, courts, and the U.S. Postal Service will be closed, with no regular mail delivery. Banks are also closed.Natchitoches Parish Government offices including the landfill, will be closed on Presidents Day.

Filo Rosso Duo will play piano and cello at concert at NSU

Segment of St. Maurice Lane overlay will begin Feb. 16

The City of Natchitoches announces that construction will begin during the week of Feb. 16, on the segment of St. Maurice Lane from Williams Avenue to East Fifth Street.

Library’s main branch children’s department closes for improvements

The Natchitoches Parish Library (NPL) is investing in longterm facility improvements with a multiphase flooring renewal project.The Main Branch’s Children’s Department on the first floor will be temporarily closed through Friday, Feb. 27, with normal operations resuming Saturday, Feb. 28.

“Dancescapes” to be performed Feb. 19-21

Northwestern State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance will present its spring dance concert, “Dancescapes,” Feb. 19-21 in the A.A. Fredericks Auditorium.Performance time is 7:30 p.m. each evening with a 2 p.m. performance on Feb. 21.
