NPD officers will be equipped with tasers

Natchitoches Police Officers will soon be equipped with tasers.At its meeting Monday, the City Council adopted a resolution that will allow the Natchitoches Police Department to buy 55 tasers.

According to The United States Geological Survey (USGS), a week earthquake struck Natchitoches Parish near Powhaton Sunday, Jan. 11, around 9:38 a.m.The 2.7 tremor originated at a depth of 3.1 miles.

Shooting leaves victim in critical condition

The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday night on Theophile Alley.On Jan. 11, around 8:08 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Theophile Alley in reference to an individual being shot in the area.

US Marshals arrest stabbing suspect

Lloyd Paillet, 52, of Shreveport, the suspect wanted for the stabbing of two individuals that took place Jan. 1, in the 200 block of Airport Road has been apprehended in Rapides Parish by the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force.
