The Natchitoches Parish Office of Community Services (OCS) has received additional LIHEAP funds to assist eligible households with their utility bills. Households may apply if they have not received LIHEAP utility assistance within the past six months and meet all applicable LIHEAP eligibility requirements. Assistance is subject to eligibility requirements and available funds. Beginning Friday, Oct. 2, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., applicants must call OCS at 318/357-2220 to begin the application process. An OCS staff member will receive the call and begin the application process. Staff will ask questions to determine whether the applicant may meet LIHEAP eligibility requirements. If the applicant appears eligible, staff will provide instructions regarding the required documentation and the next steps to complete the application. Applicants must provide all requested documentation before assistance can be processed. Applicants are asked not to come to the office to apply on Oct. 2. Applications will be accepted by telephone calls only. Funds are limited and assistance is not guaranteed.
