Young-at-Heart has March meeting and luncheon

The monthly Young at Heart luncheon for seniors was held March 6 at the First United Methodist Church. The Home Grown Tomaters Band entertained with a program of country, gospel, and contemporary Christian songs. Band members include David Clark, Geo Darfus, Julia Brown, Janet Darfus, and Keith Shirley. David Clark exhibited some of his wildflower photography for all to enjoy and also celebrated his March birthday. St. Patrick’s Day table decorations were provided by the church’s Faith Circle. Harvey Polk served as Master of Ceremonies, and Pastor Gary Willis offered a prayer before the meal. Young at Heart meets the first Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. in the church’s Bostick Hall The meeting is non-denominational, and all seniors are welcome. Those attending are asked to pay a $5 fee or to bring a covered dish to share. The next meeting is scheduled for April 3.
