LWF honors Conservation Achievement Award recipients

Louisiana Wildlife Federation’s (LWF) 59th Conservation Achievement Awards Program recognized five individuals, and two organizations selected for their significant achievements in natural resources conservation and education at a banquet, held in Baton Rouge on Friday, April 25.

Boat responsibly this Memorial Day weekend and beyond

This Memorial weekend The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Enforcement Division reminds folks to practice safe boating.During 2020-24, there were 96 boating fatalities with an average age of 48. To date in 2025, Louisiana has reported five boating fatalities.

As summer approaches, the Louisiana Department of Health reminds families to never leave children unattended when in or around water.”Sixty-two children drowned in Louisiana between 2021 and 2023, according to the LDH Office of Public Health.
