Northwestern announces its 2024 football schedule

For the first time in five years, the Northwestern State football team will play 12 games in the 2024 season.Five of those will take place in Turpin Stadium, including the first visit from perennial FCS Top 25 team Weber State, as NSU announced its full slate Thursday.

Former NSU angler kicks off his Bass Pro Tour season on home lake

Justin Cooper of Sabine Parish will begin his first season in the Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour on his home lake, Toledo Bend Reservoir.Cooper, who grew up on the northern side of the parish in the Converse area, is a father, husband, fishing guide and full-time angler.

Northwestern State football team added four new faces ahead of the spring semester.Joining the Demons for the 2024 season are transfer Blake Gotcher, Kekahi Graham, Landry Huddleston and Isaiah Ybarra.The new additions are split equally among offense and defense.

Spots remain open for the Chris Bertrand Baseball Winter Prospect Camp, set for Saturday at Brown-Stroud Field.The one-day camp, which runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., is open to high school freshmen through college seniors.
