The Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribboncutting for Full Figure LLC and officially welcome owner Tara Sapp and her business to the Natchitoches community.

KC Council 1357 donates $3,400 to local churches

The Natchitoches Knights of Columbus Council 1357 raised $3,400 with their annual fish fry. This year they teamed with Magee’s Patio Restaurant and 3-J’s Four Way.Restaurant owner Knight John Abraham offered his services to cook over 680 meals, donating $5 of each sold.

Read to Soar

Read to Soar’s second session at the NPL saw participation take off June 30, with young children participating in songs, dances, and art projects, along with a story time structured to inspire a love of reading. Each child receives free books and snacks during the weekly Tuesday sessions at 10 a.m.

Country Music Summer Nights set

The NSU Summer Dinner Theatre will present the music revue “Country Summer Nights” July 14-18 and 21-25 on the stage of the A.A. Fredericks Auditorium. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner begins at 6 p.m. Pia Wyatt is the director. Jason Thomas is the musical director.Tickets are $60.

NSU faculty member part of ‘The Music Man’ national tour

Eddie Carney, the collaborative pianist in musical theatre at Northwestern State University, just completed a two-week stint as the substitute musical director for the national tour of “The Music Man.”Carney joined the show in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Pick Up Your Brush and Paint classes will continue in August

Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Education will offer Pick Up Your Brush painting classes on July 9, 30 and Aug. 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the second floor of South Hall. The fee is $45.
