Recipes, Rhythm & Roots: A Creole Heritage Celebration is Thursday

The Gail Metoyer Jones Center at Northwestern State University invites the community to celebrate the vibrant traditions of Creole culture at “Recipes, Rhythm & Roots: A Creole Heritage Celebration” at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 at in the Lucile Hendrick Room on the first floor of the Student Union.

Riverbank Stage will be site of Drums Across the River

The Sixth Annual Drums Along the River concert will be presented on Friday, Oct. 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the downtown riverbank stage in Natchitoches. Admission is free.The concert will feature the Spirit of Northwestern Percussion Section under the direction of Dr.

Campti man arrested after fleeing on ATV

A Campti man was arrested following an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) pursuit north of Campti, according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright.At approximately 11:19 a.m. on Oct. 19, deputies from the NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau observed a Honda ATV being operated on LA Hwy. 9, north of Campti.
