NSU faculty McLaren, Hsieh to present recital Tuesday

Northwestern State University faculty Dr. Malena McLaren and Dr. Chialing Hsieh will present a recital on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free. A livestream will be available at capa.nsula.edu/lives tream.

Demons honor Caldwell before falling to SLU

Demons find clutch plays in sweep of New Orleans

Northwestern State battled to a 30 (25-17, 33-31, 25-22) sweep of New Orleans on Thursday afternoon for its eighth home win of the season.

Tigers lose on the road, 40-21

The Saint Mary’s Tigers were riding high coming into week six action on the road at Peabody. Saint Mary’s 5-0 and 1-0 in district and holding the number one spot in select Division IV was unable to bridle the War Horses.Peabody won the toss and elected to defer to the second half.

Northwestern State’s football game against Southeastern has been moved to Thursday night at Turpin Stadium.The decision to move the game came after Northwestern State learned the wake and funeral services for Ronnie Caldwell will be held Friday and Saturday in Austin, Texas.

Calling all with dirty vehicles! A fundraising car wash is taking place Saturday, Oct. 21..Just drive on over to O’Reilly Auto Parts on Keyser Ave. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Register now for Light the Way 5K

Registration is open for the fourth annual Light the Way 5K and fun run.The event takes place Sunday, Nov. 19, with registration and packet pick up from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Runners and walkers of all ages are encouraged; pushing a baby stroller and pulling little ones in a wagon is allowed, too.

Lady Demons block well but fall short at Southeastern

Just two days removed from one of the most difficult days following the death of fellow student-athlete and friend Ronnie Caldwell, Northwestern State volleyball took another step towards healing with a solid performance against one of the best teams in the conference.
