Early voting underway for Nov. 15 general election

Early voting in the Nov. 15 Municipal General Election continues through Saturday, Nov. 8 in the Registrar of Voters Office from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The office is located inside the Courthouse at 200 Church St, Natchitoches in Room 103.

Red River Sheriff’s Office apprehends Natchitoches suspect

The Red River Parish Sheriff ’s Office has apprehended Ernest Lard, who was wanted by the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff ’s Office for First Degree Rape.Lard was taken into custody in Red River Parish on Oct. 31, at approximately 5:32 p.m. without incident.

NPD arrests woman for alleged part in shooting on South Drive

The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Saturday evening on South Drive. On Oct. 25 around 8:55 p.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Drive in reference to gunshots in the area.
