Volunteers will get supplies for cleanup of Historic District

Cane River National Heritage Area and Natchitoches Chamber of Commerce are hosting a community cleanup Friday, Nov. 7, at noon. Volunteers can check in at the Riverbank Stage to grab supplies and be assigned a cleanup area.All supplies will be provided.

State Legislature approves $150 million for snap funding

As the state Legislature finished its special session Wednesday, it requested $150 million to temporarily fund SNAP food benefits in November because the federal government shutdown could cut off benefits beginning Saturday.
