The 68th annual Miss Northwestern – Lady of the Bracelet Scholarship Contest will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m. in the A.A. Fredericks Auditorium. The event is a preliminary to the Miss Louisiana Scholarship Contest.

Detention Center costs rising for Parish Government

The Parish Council continues to grapple with escalating fees from LaSalle Corrections that operates the detention center.At the Parish Council Oct. 20, Monday, Parish Treasurer Julie Lockhart said the detention center has 120 beds at a cost of $26.39 per bed daily.

Louisiana 811 serves as a natural reminder for residents to contact 811 prior to any digging project to have underground utility lines marked. Every few minutes, an underground utility line is damaged because someone decided to dig without first contacting 811.
