LDWF reminds public wild turkey population survey available online

In 2022, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) developed a public online component to expand its Wild Turkey Population Survey. In addition to increasing participation in the survey, the online component can also incorporate and track wild turkey sightings throughout the year.

NPD releases crime statistics for first 6 months

The Natchitoches Police Department has seen a reduction in crime during the first half of this year.The decrease can be attributed to the creation of the Violent Crime Task Force, stateof- the-art technology, proactive efforts in crime deterrence and the community’s cooperation with law enforcement.

Parish schools among LEAP ‘top improvers’

The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) released LEAP results for the 2024–2025 school year last week, and Natchitoches Parish Schools (NPSB) is being recognized as one of the top improving school systems in the state.
