Folk Festival adds new cookoff: ‘Red Beans and Rice’ for all cooks

This year’s Natchitoches-NSU Folk Festival on July 19 will include a Red Beans and Rice Cookoff. Professionals and hobbyists alike can compete to demonstrate their cooking skills. Registration and the cooks’ meeting will take place at 8 a.m. in the N-Club Room inside Prather Coliseum.

NSU Athletics Scholarship Auction set

The 19th biennial Northwestern State Athletics Scholarship Auction presented by BOM Bank is Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Natchitoches Events Center. Cocktail hour begins at 5 p.m., and the main program begins at 6 p.m.
