Interpretative ranger will teach knitting techniques

Fort St. Jean Baptiste State Historic Site interpretive Ranger Felicia will be on hand from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. to share beginner knitting techniques and stitches. Anyone who works with yarn and textiles are invited to join in and share their knowledge with the group.

College bound students win La. Sheriffs’ Scholarships

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright announced Peyton Cunningham of Parish has been named the recipient of an academic scholarship from the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Scholarship Program for the 2024-2025 school year.She resides in Campti and plans to attend Bossier Parish Community College.

National Police Week

The Natchitoches City Council proclaimed May 11-17 as National Police Week in the City. Some 345 names of fallen heroes are being added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial including 148 officers killed in 2024 and 197 killed in previous years.
