The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) is alerting residents about a text message scam that has the potential to steal personal information and charge unnecessary fees.

Matthews takes Oath of Office as 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army

Northwestern State University Spring 2025 graduate Caiden Matthews of Shreveport took the oath of office to serve as a 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Army during a commissioning ceremony hosted by NSU’s Department of Military Science in conjunction with graduation ceremonies May 14.

Basic Private Investigator Training Course will be held in July

Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Education will offer a 40-Hour Basic Private Investigator Training Course on July 11-13 and 18-20 in the second-floor classroom of South Hall on NSU’s Natchitoches campus.The class will be on Friday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Notary Public Exam Prep Course to get underway June 3

Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning and Global Education will offer a Notary Public Exam Prep Course starting Tuesday, June 3. The early bird fee is $430 until May 28 and $450 after that date.

Sunday, May 11, Mother’s Day, Lanell Settle started the Mother’s Day program with gifts to the youngest and oldest mothers. The youngest mother was Emily Ammons and the oldest mother was Madeline Dore’. They were given a book about things found in the Bible.
